Forget the Hoppe's label, what you're really buying is the Mpro7 line of gun cleaning products, and they are still the best, bar none. Have tried most of the popular names out there, and they all fall short of Mpro7.

Clean once thoroughly with Mpro7, and after that your time to white patches through the bore is decreased 80% in my experience. It will take you a long time to get them patches clean the first time with Mpro7 because it gets stuff the others have missed, but after that life's a breeze. For you revolver shooters, their claims about removing the lead staining on the cylinder faces are true, but it takes a while after shooting over 3000 rounds.

Products are great, but gets 4 stars rather than 5 because of the contents of the kit. I compare this to one I bought about 8 years ago, for about the same price, that had more stuff. First and foremost, as you will read in most of these reviews, the benefit to this cleaning kit is the M-Pro 7 cleaning solution and gun oil (copper cleaning is added, but not widely used by rec shooters, if you are a hunter than you may use this more frequently and it is a healthy amount)...Aside from that the contents are the norm, Bore Brushes (all sizes and mild quality), Push Rods (sufficient length for rifles), Nylon Brush (Decent Quality), Cleaning Patches (12 ga size, and only a few), Rag (same material you would find in an ER, no lint and easy to clean)....That being said, it is encased in a small plastic, lockable case and includes ONE piece of Egg-Crate foam to keep items secure, and all of the provided cleaning items are encased in cheap ziplock bags so there is no organization.

Now I may be a bit of a perfectionist, but as there is room for it, I have added a few items (plastic picks, Q-Tips, Lead Cleaning and Silicon Cloth, all in one tool etc etc...Items I... Read more

As someone mentioned its the M-Pro products that make the kit, the items included are common items, nothing special. The cleaning rod is sectional. What you're mainly paying for is the Lockable case & the M Pro products. The tools included for cleaning work, nothing special. The M Pro works very good and comes in easy to dispense bottles. The Case is solid with a lock on each side and a hole for a padlock; so you can use the case to transport a firearm. Still a bit overpriced, but looks cool.
