Classic Alt. rock song throwing plenty of tricks at the wall nearly all work. Subdued opening, mild raw sound, stomp chords, quiet spells, nice lead vocal and harmony, very nice rock song. Like it.Where The Heartache Is by For The Foxes. Another fresh sounding if wimpier song than Track 1, that sounds great. Female lead over light weight band that cruise along, simple tune, lots of ahh oohs, neat song. Rumor Mill by We Are The In Crowd. Nice opening female lead vocal that occasionally becomes boy/girl counterpoint does not add to the song, still sounds great. Up beat, zooming, tight band keep up and join in adding to great vocal and great song. Love it. Lost In Limbo by Divided By Friday. This track was on last year's Hopeless sampler, still rocks still sounds great. Jousting male singers, great harmonies and neat fast playing band. Still love it. Consists of upbeat, generally pop punk songs and I'd say that because this is a pretty particular genre, the album as a whole flows more naturally than some other samplers. I tend to gravitate towards the mellower indie samplers on Amazon, but this is definitely worth a listen if you're into anything remotely pop rock, emo, pop punk, etc., or if you want something upbeat and energetic. There's also a few semi-mainstream artists on this sampler, so if you're getting this because of the free song from The Used for example, you might as well check out the rest of the bands. |
