Have to admit, when I heard "featuring Colbie Cailat" I let out a groan and my expectations were low (I am NOT a fan). But, I love it. Why? HARMONY. I mean, it's an actual duet. Not the crap that's usually put out there as a duet between a couple artists where I-sing-and-then-you-sing-and-then-we'll-sing-together-but-usually-the-same-notes-so-we-don't-get-confused. There's actual harmony in this song...and it even varies a little with some counter-melody. I didn't think anyone knew how to do that anymore! So, even though the song is simplistic (it's a bit cheesy to the point that I thought Cailat might have written it, but then the sound of it just wasn't hers), I enjoy it. If you are happy and in love, then you will be able to really appreciate this song. Granted, there are many songs out there that already have the same type of content, but they are mostly over-played. This is a new love song to enjoy that reminds you to be appreciative of what you have in life, which is definitely need in this economy. I love Jason Mraz's song and Colbie Caillat really adds a great hint of femininity to this song without making it too mushy. I give it an "A." 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: A happy tune, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lucky featuring Colbie Caillat (MP3 Download) I was in a store, and heard this song. Usually I can't identify the artist if it is a pop artist, but right away, I thought it might be these two. I also thought it was a great song with a very catchy tune. It's a very happy sort of song. I heard "I'm Yours" on American Idol, and loved it. And I recently became familiar with Colbie Caillat's music, and I like her simple style. |
