This CD contains most of Ms Simone's best music from over the years, and you are treated to such musical wonders as "Feeling Good", the funky and toe tapping "My Baby Just Cares For Me" and the thought provoking "To Be Young Gifted and Black." I only wish the CD included the troubled and haunting melody "Strange Fruit", in this throatily sung song Nina told the world in allegory about the lynching of Black men, and who can forget those heartfelt lyrics as she cries out to a seemingly uncaring nation, "Strange fruit hangin' from the poplar trees..." This review is from: Very Best of (Audio CD) Having only heard a song here or there I chose the Best Of so I could have a wide range of her music. I am blown away by her voice! My husband thought I was crazy when I bought the disc and now asks me to play her CD all the time. It's our favorite to play while reading the Sunday paper and enjoying our coffee. I got hooked on Nina Simone when I saw the movie, Point of No Return. My fav tracks are Feeling Good, Don't Let me Be Misunderstood and I Want Some Sugar In My Bowl.
